Should-Free Living by Heather Strang – Dating Slump

I haven’t been very interested in dating lately, as I have too many other things going on. Should I feel more like dating? Everyone around me says I should. -H.M

Dear H.M.,

This is such a fabulous question–thank you!

So often, we are absolutely fine with the way our life is going until someone around us (or someone on TV or in a movie) asserts that perhaps we shouldn’t be. The most important thing to know is that as long as you feel good about your life, that’s all that matters. No one can be you or know what is perfect for you–except for you.

My co-author, Brooke Emery says, “If it feels good, no should!” In other words, if it feels good for you to be in the space you’re in, there’s no need to should on yourself. You can enjoy your life in any way that feels right for you.

Also, trust that when you are ready to date again, you will know it with absolute certainly. You won’t doubt or wonder if you’re ready – you’ll just know. And once you are, pursue it in whatever way feels good for you (no should’s allowed!).

In the meantime, enjoy your rich and fabulous life!!!

Much love & blessings,
Heather
